Back to Basics!

Right, so I’m a woman on a mission to revamp my wardrobe! Wear do I start? Well, quite frankly, I think I want to go back to the very basics. After a long week of working I find myself waking up on a Saturday morning not quite knowing what to piece together, and it all goes back to key staples/pieces.. or in my case, lack of!

I feel like I need to take some time to incorporate fresh cami’s, blazers, jeans, and tailored trousers. These make putting an outfit together so much easier. No thought needed and oozes effortlessly chic. I’ve chosen one from each so hopefully it will help all you ladies too if you are stuck in this rut also.

Flares scream Flair!

Welcome back! I know it’s been a hot minute since I pushed out my last blog post but the Summer shenanigans have been in full swing. Along with BBQ’S, weddings, family get-togethers and parties, comes the long awaited summer fashion. And this is it.. I’ve fallen back in love with jumpsuits!!
If you’d asked me two years back;

“What kind of jumpsuits??” I’d of answered with “the tailored peg leg type”. Completely sleek cut with no wide leg in sight. But I seem to have just hit a daring corner lately and I’m throwing myself further into the experimenting world of fashion.

I’ve just recently purchased the gorgeous black flowy jumpsuit above, from trusty ASOS Petite, and I’m in love! It’s airy, it’s comfortable, it’s effortlessly chic, and looks a lot more expensive than the price tag! At just ÂŁ22.50 it was a true steal. The subtle bell sleeves and the gorgeous flared legs scream elegance. I paired it with a black bag with gold hardware and emerald detailing, and a pair of “Chanel-esque” block heels. Such a classic look. Perfect for any summer occasion with the ability to dress up or down.

So that’s it. I’m sold! Go grab those flares and a pair of heels ladies!

Holiday Essentials: Top Beauty Hacks

Holiday season is fast approaching and if you’re lucky enough to be jetting off somewhere hot, then I’ve got some top beauty secrets for you!

Okay so, if you’ve never heard of Temple Spa… then GET to know them! I only got to know this brand in the last year or so after I kindly got invited to a Temple Spa girls night. I’ve always been sceptical about brand reps coming round to your home for a hard sell. But I must admit, it was nothing like that. We all got down to taking our make up off, putting a headband on to push our hair back, and got stuck in on trying all the AMAZING products.

Two products really stuck out for me, and they were both from the range called “GOLDENTINI”. WOW do they smell good! They work wonders and I swore by them all Summer.

“LOVELINESS IN A JAR” they call it, and exactly that it is! It is a gorgeous gradual tanner and the best tinted moisturizer for your face. We all know what it’s like on holiday when you lay out in the sun and sweat/melt your foundation off, so this is a great way to give your face some colour without having to cake on the make up! It gives off a lovely natural, dewy, sun-kissed glow without being streaky!

This smells..UN..REAL! Literally Summer/Heaven in a bottle. Have you ever wondered how celebs/supermodels get that glossy leg look in photo shoots? Well this product is RENOWNED for it. It gives your legs and body such a glow. I personally like to put bits on my decalotage when wearing a lower cut dress! (THANK. ME. LATER.) They’re now sold in Harrods which is how popular they have becone.

The only slight negative I’d say is to just be careful when applying, do let it completely dry, as it can leave tan marks on white clothing (which do come out) but PLEASE let it all sink in as it is a bronzer.

My hair, and sun, do NOT bond very well together. So if you’re like me and lack a bit of moisture in your hair.. this is going to be a game changer for you. Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side for a hair oil, but it sure does last you a good while! All you need to do is add one or two pumps (depending on the thickness of your hair) into the palms of your hands, rub both hands together, and roughly distribute it all through your hair. Your dry hair will DRINK this stuff.

So years ago I used to use the XXL Batiste Dry Shampoo as a volumiser instead of actually using it as a dry shampoo. I’d spray a little and tease a little, and it looked fab. Unfortunately the only downfall was that I obviously wasn’t using it for dry shampoo purposes so it didnt always feel nice applying to clean hair, but my long hair sometimes lacks body and texture!

They then brought out an XXL Volume Powder and I thought HEY..PRESTO! All problems solved. However, I felt like it just left my hair feeling matte and almost dirty. I still like to be able to run my fingers through my hair and not feel over-styled!

But wait for it..Batiste have cleverly, and only just recently come out with an XXL Spray and my god it’s good! Tip your locks upside down, spray where needed, and massage it in with your fingertips. Make sure you give the can a good shake and really massage it in so that you’re not left with any traces of white residue!

So if you try any of the products above then comment below on how you got on with them!

SS17 Bible: Floral & Frills

BIG bold floral prints, frills, sequins, metallics, fringing, and tailoring are so on trend this season and I am absolutely loving it! I must admit, I can be a little stuck in my ways when it comes to fashion. Opting for darker colours and safer cuts, however I seem to be feeling so daring this season and I really think that it’s down to all the beautiful seasonal trends out this 2017.

To give you a little idea of my style, the women I bow down to in fashion are Victoria Beckham, Olivia Palermo and Kate Middleton (and a bit of Mille Mackintosh). To me, they are all women that scream elegance and class. I do appreciate a bit of edge and sex appeal that the Kardashian/Jenner family throw out there, but I think being able to nail simplicity within fashion oozes more of an intricate talent.

So if your style icons match the above then take a look at some of the pieces I’ve picked out for you so that you’ll be on trend this season:

This gorgeous Karen Millen is one that I could TOTALLY see VB sporting, and I’m sure she would slay it with an oversized white shirt, super long sleeves peeking out from underneath the sleeves of the blazer, unbuttoned and skimming right over her hands… with a sassy pair of heels of course!

I LOVE the above. Frills are so on trend this season and there are so many dupes for this on the high street for a lot cheaper, but I must say, this one from Self Portrait has frills in all the right places! The cut is fantastic, and personally I think there is nothing sexier than baring some glossy sun kissed shoulders in the Summer!

What a stunning elegant floral piece! I love the fluted sleeves which is so on trend right now. I think it’s definitely one of those pieces that looks better on the body than on a hanger. Perfect for a summer evening do!
